Houston residential and retail redevelopment project requires real-time air quality monitoring to ensure construction safety.
As Modern Geosciences completed closure on part of the Site within the Texas Voluntary Cleanup Program, the development company needed air quality monitoring within the construction zone performed under a project-specific Health and Safety Plan and Soil Management Plan. Modern developed chemical-specific screening goals using OSHA Permissible Exposure Limits (PELs) for particulate matter, PAHs, and VOCs that were agreed to by all parties. Additionally, Modern also prescribed appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) needed for certain portions of the site work. Modern’s monitoring allowed new piers to be installed safely within areas of the Site with prior documented impact so the project could stay on time and on budget.
