Retail Remedial Planning
Impact of former gas station and laundry facilities assessed as part of multi-property retail remedial planning evaluation for client in East Texas.
Modern Geosciences was engaged by a client to provide retail remedial planning evaluation services for a multi-property assemblage in East Texas. Past operations of concern included gas stations and a laundry. Based on initial investigations, several soil lenses with groundwater were noted to be impacted by a significant chlorinated solvent release. Modern installed additional wells and soilgas monitor points to understand vertical and lateral impact as well as soilgas attenuation rates at the site. Modern engaged the city on the support of a municipal setting designation (MSD) and also began regulatory reporting. Final remedial planning included evaluation of vapor mitigation control, remedial goals to lessen future vapor intrusion concerns, and mitigation approaches to address off-site groundwater impacts.
