Abandoned Transmission Line
Phase II site investigation completed for planned retail expansion above abandoned petroleum transmission line.
Modern Geosciences completed a comprehensive Phase II site investigation on a former petroleum transmission line that ran beneath a planned retail expansion. Potential for historic releases that would impact new utility infrastructure was identified during a Phase I ESA. Based on the investigation efforts, Modern confirmed minor soil impact and was able to get the owning entity to remove the section crossing the property and backfill with low porosity material to minimize potential for preferential pathway flow later should other portions of the line encounter issues. Modern was engaged to oversee the removal efforts.
